Aldis is a VR evangelist and lifelong videogame nerd. He combines virtual reality, cognitive neuroscience, and game design to enhance performance. Aldis received a Ph.D. in Visual Cognition and Human Performance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2015, specializing in neuroenhancement. In his time at UIUC he founded a VR research lab, where he developed cognitive tests using the Unity3D videogame engine. Prior to joining IBM, he was co-founder and CEO of a VR startup in San Francisco developing brain training videogames for the Samsung GearVR headset. His current work at IBM Research uses machine learning and sensor data to enhance performance and cognition in VR.
