Aldis is a VR evangelist and lifelong videogame nerd. He combines a background in virtual reality, cognitive neuroscience, and game design to enhance performance. Aldis received a Ph.D. in Visual Cognition and Human Performance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2015, specializing in brain training videogamese and neuroenhancement. In his time at UIUC he founded a VR research lab, where he developed VR experiments for the Oculus DK1 in the Unity3D game engine. Prior to joining IBM, he was co-founder and CEO of a VR startup in San Francisco developing brain training videogames for the Samsung GearVR headset. His current work at IBM Research centers around using machine learning and sensors to predict and enhance memory in VR.
