Astrid Kahmke is firmly convinced: innovation grows best in a multi-disciplinary environment.
After her studies Astrid Kahmke started her professional career as a festival manager, dramaturge and associate producer. As creative film producer for Bavaria Film she realized several tv-projects and was honoured with the prestigious Producer Award of Filmfest Hamburg in 2008. Her international feature films “Death of a Superhero” (starring Andy Serkis, Thomas Brodie Sangster), “Run and Jump” (starring Maxine Peake, Will Forte) and “Mr. Morgan’s Last Love” (starring Michael Caine, Clémence Poésy) were invited to numerous festivals and received many international awards.
Since 2012 she is head of First Movie Program at the Bavarian Film Center. The program supports talent filmmakers and mediaprofessionals with their debut projects. She develops training formats such as the “Immersive Storytelling 360° Hackathon”, the “Writers’ Room:Lab” and is head and mentor of the “story: first – digital storytelling lab”. Since 2014 her focus is clearly on VR, AR and all upcoming forms of Mixed Realities. With her workshops and masterclasses for digital storytelling, storytelling for VR and design thinking, she wants to gap the bridge between tech world and storytellers.
She curates and hosts the „i4c – Content Creation for Virtual Worlds“, an international conference on 29th of October in Munich.
