Benjamin de Wit

Benjamin de Wit is Founder and Festival Director of VR Days Europe. Since its first year in 2015, VR Days has the ambition to be Europe’s leading professional and creative XR event. Benjamin’s first experience with VR in 2013 inspired him to bring together professionals and creatives from across the globe to explore the potential of XR technology and its ability to have a profound impact on the world we live in. He realised the power of VR to enable us to see and experience in new ways, and as a tool that will change the way we interact and do business.

From a career as a professional actor, turned business founder and developer, Benjamin understands the dynamics of both creative XR and XR for enterprise. Between 2001- 2007 Benjamin was an actor with Ivo van Hove’s Toneelgroep. He then developed Spot On Agency for actors, the digital agency Studio Stomp, and was the driving force behind The Classical Story multi-reality experience for classical music. He is also on the board of Norma, the Dutch neighbouring rights organization for musicians and actors.

As a father, husband and amateur pastry chef Benjamin embodies the VR Days’ mission to unite the XR community, inspire creative minds, and drive business forward.

In August 2015 he joined the Parisian-based startup VideoStitch as their VP Strategic Partnerships. Recently he founded XRBASE in Amsterdam with the goal of uniting several physical hotspots in Europe and to create a true VR/AR ecosystem. XRBASE is an incubator/co-working space and (experimental) content production company.
