Despite the challenging circumstances we all find ourselves in, with VRDays 6 New Horizons happening online, Halo Awards 2020 will continue to shine and recognise creative minds in the VR/AR community.

Virtual ceremony but real awards
Winners will be announced at the VR Days 2020 Award Night on Wednesday, November 4. The selected works will be rewarded with a Gold, Silver or Bronze Halo. Each year one ‘Diamond Halo’ will be given to the best among the Golden Halo’s, and there will be an audience vote for the ‘Heavenly Halo’. There are 10 different categories:

- Best Therapy Application
- Best Research Application
- Best Non-fiction
- Best Fiction
- Best Game
- Special New Horizons Award
The Halo Awards digital ceremony takes place on November 4th and is available online. The Halo Awards will be judged by the brightest minds in VR, AR, and MR. Deadline for application is October 15th.

Stichting Dutch Virtual Reality Days was founded in 2015 with the goal to stimulate the production of VR content, to offer a platform for VR professionals and facilitate knowledge sharing on VR in Europe. In October 2015, the Stichting organized the first edition of VR Days. Its success was enormous: sold out, extensive media attention.
VR Days brings creators together with multiple sectors and investors to boost the content creation and business in this emerging industry. The Stichting aims to organise VR Days Europe on a structural basis, has an international scope and focuses on unlocking the potential of the European VR/AR/MR industry on a global level.
About Laval Virtual
Throughout the 21 years of its existence, Laval Virtual has established itself as a major facilitator for organisations in the VR/AR and immersive techniques sector. It gathers and leads a community of professionals through the organization of events and conference
programmes in Europe and Asia and provides various information services. In 2020, Laval Virtual organized a virtual version of its annual exhibition, with conferences and networking moments during 3 days. The Laval Virtual World welcomed 11,200 people from 22nd to 24th April 2020. The next show will take place in Laval, France from 14th to 18th April 2020.
