VR & Tele-Rehabilitation

VR tools are a breath of fresh air for the medical system and personnel that is under great strain. With little equipment, patients can receive treatment and assistance, personalised to their individual needs.

The aim of tele-rehabilitation is a continuation of the rehabilitation process.  How can VR be included in this process? With VR tools being highly accessible, such opportunities in patient care decreases the number of necessary patient visits and enables treatment of a larger number of patients at the same time.

Virtual rehabilitation methods cano track the progress of the patient, increasing the difficulty level of the tasks gradually. The outcome?  Immersive technology adoption in healthcare has the potential to decrease the time practitioners need to spend with their patients and reduce the associated costs

VR technologies are more accessible to the general public and, at the same time, research shows value in using immersive features in a number of fields, including healthcare and rehabilitation.

VR provides digital rehabilitation methods, maximizing the effects of traditional therapies.  Interactive simulations can engage and motivate patients in rehabilitation activities, such as game-like physiotherapy exercises and being distracted by the immersive experience, patients can undergo medical procedures with less pain and psychological distress. Significant results have also emerged  in the rehabilitation of motor skills of stroke patients.

VR is still in the early stages of medical adoption, but the current  results are proving to be revolutionary. What are the main concerns for medical practitioners in engaging this new technology? During VR & Tele-Rehabilitation, speakers will address the current status of existing tools.

Expect to hear from leading researchers about their work in developing dynamic, interactive virtual rehabilitation exercises. Find out in which  clinical fields immersive technologies are already in use, from physical to cognitive rehabilitation and their level of success.

We work together with selected industry partners and rehabilitation tool suppliers to present you the best use cases, solutions and technologies for VR (tele)rehabilitation. At VRDays 6 New Horizons
